Richard Bettis, Vocational Chair

Richard grew up in Greeneville, TN on an 80 acre farm, where work ethic was engrained in his soul……..While attending Tusculum University he worked for his dad’s trucking company during the day and went to college in the evening. After graduating in 1999, with a Bachelors in Organizational Management from TU, he moved to Knoxville, TN and he begin career in the illustrious career of selling pagers. A year later Cell phones took out this industry and he made the transition to retail where he resided for 5 years. He decided to go back to school for a Masters in Education with the intentions of teaching and coaching. While coaching at CN, met my wife at a part time job and decided they needed to get married. A family friend got him into banking and he’s been doing that for almost 20 years.

Richard has been doing leadership training for non-profits and churches throughout the state, for the last 10 years.

Has been in Rotary for 12 years and has held multiple board positions, including president of the Rotary Club of Bearden.
He’s been married to the “same” wife for 19 years – Lisa Has a 12 year old daughter, Ainsley, which acts way too much like him.
